Finding the kitten that is "right" for you: The "right" kitten can be easy to find if you follow a few guidelines. The kitten you pick will be your companion for approximately the next 18 years if it is kept indoors. We have a series of articles that will provide guidelines for you to follow and make your search much easier.
Adult cats make great pets too. Breeders often have mature cats that are retired from the show ring or a breeding program and may be available either for sale or adoption.
Notes of interest: Pricing on pedigreed cats usually depends on type, applicable markings and bloodlines. Usually breeders make kittens available between twelve and sixteen weeks of age. After twelve weeks, kittens have had their basic inoculations and developed the physical and social stability needed for a new environment, showing, or being transported by air. Keeping such a rare treasure indoors, neutering or spaying and providing acceptable surfaces (e.g. scratching posts) for the natural behavior of scratching (Most breeders disapprove of declawing or tendonectomy surgery) are essential elements for maintaining a healthy, long and joyful life.
